British troops have stepped in to help with recruitment and training. Infantry Branch School - Kabul
British forces, admired for their infantry skills and professionalism around the world have created the new Infantry Branch School (IBS) in the mountainous outskirts of Kabul in partnership with the Afghan National Army (ANA). The purpose of the school is to teach the ANA the finer points of infantry tactics and support weapons above and beyond their basic training. Based on the similar iconic training facilitates in the UK, the Infantry Battle School in Brecon, Wales and the Support Weapons School in Warminster, Wiltshire, the school is part of a wider initiative by ISAF to set up specialist training facilitates for different elements of the Afghan Army, in the same way that coalition forces operate. This includes training establishments for communications, logistics, armour and engineering. The key objective is to develop the ANA soldier's knowledge to cover military tactics and the use of their weapons in support of their other military units. Ultimately this creates a more rounded and tactically-capable Afghan force. Commanding Officer of the Infantry Advisory Group, Lieutenant Colonel Jeremy Pughe- Morgan said, "What the Infantry School is going to do is focus on developing junior leadership and tactical skills for platoon commanders, platoon sergeants and squad leaders from the Afghan National Army.....We run exactly the same courses as they do in the UK, the ANA are the instructors, we are merely here to make sure they follow the program of instruction and make the <b>...</b>

This is video of the attacks on the ISAF and NATO Security Forces in Kabul, Afghanistan. Afghan National Security Forces, supported by coalition forces, successfully concluded an operation this morning against a small group of insurgents who attacked several locations in Kabul City. Insurgents attacked the International Security Assistance Force Afghanistan headquarters and the US Embassy in Kabul on Tuesday with small arms fire from outside the secure zone surrounding these compounds. Afghan National Security Forces, who have the lead for security in Kabul, responded immediately, to include Afghan National Army helicopters providing air support. Afghan and coalition forces trapped the insurgents in the partially-constructed, multi-story building they were using as a firing position, and conducted a methodical, floor-by-floor clearing operation. The Ministry of the Interior is reporting six insurgents killed in the operation. "The people of Afghanistan have chosen a path to the future with transition," said Gen. John R. Allen, ISAF commander. "In this attack, the insurgency succeeded in killing Afghan civilians, once again demonstrating their bankrupt ideology, which has been rejected by the Afghan people. Afghan security forces responded bravely, contained the insurgents, and systematically eliminated the threat. Once again, I was impressed by the courage, skill and fighting spirit of Afghan forces.
