Rumi was born in Balkh, Bactria, in contemporary Afghanistan, which at that time was part of the Persian Empire. Yazid perceived Husayn's refusal to pledge allegiance as a danger to his throne. Hussein RTA wanted to go to Kufa. Husayn RTA in his path toward Kufa encountered the army of Ubayd-Allah ibn Ziyad, the governor of Kufa. At the Battle of Karbala it is recorded that seventy two people were killed. Today, the death of Hussein ibn Ali is commemorated during every Muharram by Shiite Muslims, with the most important of these days being its tenth day, Ashura. Ashura is also commemorated by Sunni Muslims. Husayn's body is buried in Karbala, near the site of his death

Lost in the maze of cause and of effect Is Reason; Love strikes boldly in the field Of Action. Crafty Reason sets a snare; Love overthrows the prey with strong right arm. Reason is rich in fear and doubt; but Love Has firm resolve, faith indissoluble. Reason constructs, to make a wilderness; Love lays wide waste, to build all up anew. My only message,is that we all are ONE, but have different ways to express the VERY same feeling of longing for finding the divine within and melting with IT. نشيد فارسي از اهل سنت ايران درباره عمر فاروق رضي الله عنه و ارضاه Farsi Nasheed about Omar [ra] - By the people of the Sunnah in Iran. This is is the city of Zahedan. The brother recites a poem in persian about Ameer Al-Mumineen Omar - may Allah be pleased with him. There are loads of poems in persian about the Sahabah, particularly about the Khulafa Al-Rashidoon (Abu Bakr, Omar, Othman & Ali). This is due to the fact that Iran (in his ISLAMIC history) was mostly a great SUNNI country (Abu Hanifah, Ibn Majah, Abu Dawud, Imam Muslim, Al Ghazali, Al Razi and many more among the Salaf were Persian). A fact uknown to many. It is true, today Iran is MAINLY Shia (not completely for at least 15% of Iranians are still Sunnis) yet only for the last 500years of its ISLAMIC history. Therefore the MOST FAMOUS Iranian poets were SUNNI, like Molana Rumi, Saadi, Ferdousi, OMAR Khayyam etc.
