Iran must attack Israel
In a document published on conservative Farsi website Alef, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's strategist provided the legal and religious justification for the annihilation of Israel and the Jewish people. The strategy specialist Alireza Forghani, outlined the reasons why, in the name of Allah, Iran needed to attack Israel by 2014. The doctrine was published on a website believed to have close ties with the Ayatollah. Forghani called the Jewish state a 'cancerous tumor' and reminded his readers that all of Iran's troubles were due to Israel.

Strait Jacket: Iran to 'definitely' close Hormuz if EU bans oil
EU nations have formally adopted an unprecedented set of sanctions against Tehran - which include a bloc-wide embargo on Iranian oil. The move targets Iran's nuclear program which, the Islamic Republic insists, is for purely peaceful purposes. To discuss the implications of fresh sanctions against Iran, RT talks to James Corbett - editor of independent news website - 'The Corbett Report' which is based in Japan. Oil-for-gold: Iran to dodge US ban with metal shield?
The EU has delivered on its threat to ban the import of crude oil from Iran, in response to its nuclear programme. The latest round of sanctions prohibits any new oil contracts, while allowing for existing deals to run until July. But Tehran is apparently finding ways to keep business pumping. Reports say Iran will keep supplying one of its biggest customers - India - but will get payment in gold instead of dollars. RT on Facebook: www.facebook.com RT on Twitter: twitter.com

Going to war with Iran on an "if"?
On Tuesday the Senate held a hearing to discuss what the US views as worldwide threats. It is no surprise that Iran made the top of the list as tensions between the West and Iran have grown. According to some reports, 70 percent of Americans believe Iran has a nuclear weapon despite Secretary Defense Leon Panetta admitting that is false. Ray McGovern, former CIA analyst, joins us to discuss should Americans be afraid of Iran and if America should go to war on an if. Like us and/or follow us: twitter.com www.facebook.com

'Enemy is on Wall Street, not in Iran'
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is calling for the intensification of sanctions against Iran over its alleged nuclear weapons program, saying an embargo on Iranian oil must be put in place. But Caleb Maupin of the International Action Center, an anti-war group, say such measures "are just part of a continued repression of the Iranian people." 'US intervention in Iran will drag China & Russia into war'
Iran is accusing the EU of waging an economic war. It's in response to Europe considering banning Iranian oil imports in the coming weeks. There's already a verbal standoff over sanctions imposed by the US at the end of last year, aimed at pressing Iran into abandoning its nuclear programme. Tehran threatened to block a key maritime trade route in the Persian Gulf, and later backed off, but is still warning US ships against sailing in the area. Iran will reportedly hold another naval drill next month. But anti-war activist John Rees sees Western worries over Iran's supposed nuclear ambitions, as an excuse to curtail Iranian influence in the region. US/Iran tension artificial?

'War is hell: Iran far stronger than US would like to admit'
Iran has successfully test-fired two long-range missiles on the last day of major naval exercises in the international waters of the Persian Gulf. This comes amid mounting Western pressure on the country over its nuclear ambitions. Tehran says it's ready to counter any attack by enemies like Israel or the United States. Iran has also angrily reacted to new US sanctions targeting its central bank and financial sector. It has been threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz - the world's most important oil export route linking the Persian Gulf to the Indian Ocean. Meanwhile the EU is mulling an embargo on the purchase of Iranian oil, and a decision on that is expected before the end of the month. India to neglect sanctions on Iranian oil
Despite the new round of US and EU sanctions on Iran, India has said it would do what ever it takes to buy the Iranian oil. Crude Plan: Iran war & double recession?
Global oil prices are spiking as the EU says it's agreed in principle to ban imports of Iranian crude. The sanctions could come in to effect by the end of January, unless Iran backs down on its alleged nuclear weapons programme. Tehran has responded to the sanctions with threats to block oil trade through the crucial Strait of Hormuz, leading to a continued deadlock in the Persian Gulf. American warships are also present in the region, with a mission to prevent any hindrances of passage. RT talks to political analyst Christoph Hoerstel, who's in Berlin. The IAEA visit comes at a time when tensions between Iran and the West are approaching crisis level. On Monday, EU nations adopted an unprecedented set of sanctions against the Islamic Republic, which include a complete embargo on oil supplies from Iran. That comes into force in July, but Iran is considering an immediate halt of oil sales to Europe in retaliation. 'Accusing Iran of 9/11 echoes Iraq scenario'
On Thursday, families of victims of the September 11th 2001 attacks won a default judgment against Iran, the Taliban, Al-Qaeda and Lebanon-based Hezbollah. According to the lawsuit, people in Iran -- including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei- provided support to the terrorists who went on to attack civilians on US soil. But analysts say it's nothing but a cover-up, with Iran as a convenient fall guy. Jamal Abdi from the National Iranian American Council tells RT that there is a campaign going on "to ratchet up pressure for yet another US attack on a Middle Eastern country." Would US back Israeli attack on Iran?
US President Barack Obama has stepped up pressure on Iran over its nuclear ambitions by signing an executive order to implement sanctions passed by Congress late last year. Amid speculation that Israel could be preparing a pre-emptive strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, some have wondered whether Washington would also support military action by its ally. But Leon Panetta, the US defense secretary, has said that attacking Iran would be "a conflict that we would regret", only serving to delay Iran's abilities to develop nuclear weapons, making the US a target for Iranian retribution and having dire economic consequences for the US and Europe. Al Jazeera's Patty Culhane reports from Washington.
