"Beshno az nay..." Jalāl ad-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī (جلالالدین محمد رومی), (known to the English-speaking world simply as Rumi) (30 September 1207 17 December 1273), was a 13th-century Persian poet, Islamic jurist, theologian, and mystic Sufi of high order. Rumi was born in Balkh, Bactria, in contemporary Afghanistan, which at that time was part of the Persian Empire. He lived most of his life under the Sultanate of Rum, where he produced his works and died in 1273 CE. He was buried in Konya, current day Turkey. Following his death, his followers and his son Sultan Walad founded the Mawlawīyah Sufi Order, also known as the Order of the Whirling Dervishes, tags: Education, Rumi;, Persian, poetry;, Molavi;, maulana;, mawlana, Jalaudin, Masnavi;, Mathnavi;, Iran;, Iranian, farsi;, mawlana;, mevlana;, beshno, nay;, sufi;, rumi, recitation;, hafez, shirazi;, afghanestan;, afghan, afghan;, Jalal-ad-Din, Muhammad, Balki;, poem, recited, persian; Awaken - Khorasan Aryana Iran Tajikistan Samarqand Bukhara Awaken... O'honorable Tajik, let us awaken! Let us no longer make excuses for the oppression and the injustice that is imposed upon us In our veins runs the blood of our forefathers Their valor, strength, and fortitude mirrors in our own souls A greatness we can not deny; a heritage we should not turn away from Let us revolt and rise up against the Evil that assails from the South and from the North and from beyond the corners of the world Let our voices be heard as one against the tyrants and the mercenaries Let us create a nation -- our nation! Our Khorasan. Our Aryana; A nation of respect and integrity Built from the ashes of a great Empire Where the strength of both pen and sword were known And where civilization flourished with ease Let us pave the way to freedom and justice Let us now be the masters of our destiny O' glorious Tajik, Awaken! Hold firm and strong Let us no longer pity those who feed off our benevolence The enemy is strong but through knowledge, we can be stronger With their trickery and with their lies, they sought to rule over us No longer shall we be fooled by their false claims of brotherhood They mislead us with their words and they betray us with their actions Truth and education interweave in the road to power So let us open our eyes If we wish to survive, we must become leaders of ourselves as well as leaders of other people We have been murdered enough We have followed enough We have submitted enough It is more than enough So awaken, be free <b>...</b> tags: People, Persian, farsi, parsi, dari, tajik, afghanistani, khorasan, kabul, balkh, herat, pashto, massoud, karzai, afghan, panjshir, qarsak, rumi Dr. Nehzat Farnoody at 2007 Rumi's Celebration (DrFarnoody.com) UNESCOs 2007 as the Year of Rumi - Iranian / Persian Cultural Foundation (IPCF) celebrated the 800th anniversary of the birth of Rumi.
