Uzbekistan: Taşkent.Özbekistan'ın başkenti (Capital of Uzbekistan) Part 5/17
Youtbe: nurettinodunya Tashkent - The Capital of Uzbekistan The main city of Uzbekistan is a huge metropolis with a population of over 3 million people. The city is lined with a grid of straight and wide streets and avenues, decorated with emerald green parks, gardens, fountains imbued with crystal strands... This wonderful city is a real embodiment of the modern elegance that is inherent in many world capitals. At the same time it remains to be an oriental city. Tashkent has its own unique flavor. It combines medieval buildings as if descended from the pages of old oriental tales, elegant European architecture from the period of the Turkestan governor-generalship, standard concrete "boxes" of the Soviet era and, finally, glittering skyscrapers of glass and concrete (modern business centers and banks). Tashkent, Uzbekistan -Tashkent Restaurants and Cafes Tashkent cafes and restaurants present delicious national Uzbek as well as European, Middle Eastern and Russian cuisines. Old part of the city is the center of traditional local cuisine in Tashkent. Between Kukeldash Madrassah and Chorsu bazaar you may find a great number of chaykhanas (café terrace with ayvans), cafes and eating houses, where you can snack a kebab, shaurma, Uzbek somsa and etc. Also you can try national dishes in family-run Uzbek houses. Close to the Yunus-Obod tennis court there is the huge Pilaf center (Osh Markazi), where you may taste delicious wedding Tashkent pilaf. Tashkent restaurants amaze with ...

Youtube: nurettinodunya Buhara (Bukhara,Boxoro) which is situated on the Silk Route, is more than 2000 years old. The historic part of the city, which is in effect an open-air museum, combines the city's long history in a single ensemble. Archaeological excavations have revealed that the settlement on the site of latter-day Bukhara became part of the Kushan state as early as the 2nd millennium BC. In the 4th century it was incorporated into the Ephtalite state. Before the Arab conquest Bukhara was one of the largest cities of central Asia, owing its prosperity to its site on a rich oasis and at the crossroads of ancient trade routes. It became a major cultural centre of the Caliphate of Baghdad in 709, and in 892 the capital of the independent Samanid Kingdom. Penalty kick FAIL! Aleksandr Geynrikh (Uzbekistan) vs Zenit 23 January 2012
Uzbek striker Aleksandr Geynrikh goes from smart-ass to sucker in a glorious penalty FAIL vs Zenit January 23rd, 2012 As the cold winter months persist, world football is witnessing a handful of friendly matches as several leagues remain on hiatus. In that framework Zenit St. Petersburg played a friendly with Uzbekistan's U23 squad on Monday night; a match that the Russians ran out comfortable 5-nil winners. After shipping all five strikes, Uzbekistan had the chance to redeem some pride when they won a penalty in the final moments of injury time. Responsibility fell onto striker Aleksandr Geynrikh to convert from the spot, but forward made a complete pigs-ear out of the spot-kick whilst trying to be the smartest kid in the class. Trying to emulate that famous Johan Cruyff penalty, Geynrikh and his intended partner in crime Vitaliy Pachuyev ended up replicating the ridiculous Thierry Henry and Bobby Pires penalty FAIL that Arsenal fans will likely never forget. Usually that would have been the end of the story, but there was a twist. Despite royally screwing up the penalty, Geynrikh managed to earn a reprieve as the ref blew his whistle for an encroachment against Zenit. But, like a complete muppet, the striker managed to whack the ball over the bar to complete a humiliating double whammy.

Insight: Uzbekistan - A Mother With MDR-TB
She had all but given up, thinking her TB was going to end her life. Her coffin had already been built. But then Rohatay Abdullaeva, a former nurse living in northwest Uzbekistan, learned she could get help, that she could heal. As World TB Day approaches, MSF celebrates her good health as a sign of what's possible, but also remembers the huge and growing numbers of people with TB and drug resistant TB who cannot get the help they need.
