It will be the first purpose-built Grand Prix facility in the United States designed for any and all classes of racing, from motor power to human power, and be the US home to both the Formula 1 and MotoGP Grand Prix World Championships. The Circuit of the Americas master plan features a variety of permanent structures designed for business, education, entertainment and race use. Its signature element will be a 3.4-mile circuit track with capacity for 120000 fans. 'Disco queen' Donna Summer dies

Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch dies aged 47
Adam Yauch, a founding member of one of the world's most successful hip hop bands, the Beastie Boys, has died after a three-year battle with cancer. The 47-year old's distinctive voice and rapping style made the band stand out from the rest in their genre, ushering in a rise to stardom in the mid-1980s. The band has sold more than 40 million records and was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. Al Jazeera's Tom Ackerman takes a look back at Yauch's life.

US government sues Apple in e-book scandal
The US Justice Department is suing technology company Apple and five book publishers for price fixing. The Department apparently has evidence of meetings between book publishing CEOs involved in negotiating prices amongst themselves, and of the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs laying out a blatant price fixing plan. The publishers are accused of significantly raising e-book prices above those of their competitors, with Apple scooping up a hefty share of the profits.
