Taliban deadly offensive in Kabul
It is being described as the biggest attack in Kabul in the last 11 years as the Taliban easily penetrated one of the most secure parts of the country. Fighting continued for almost 18 hours and defence officials say 36 fighters were killed and 18 captured in the capital Kabul and other parts of Afghanistan. Afghan security sources reveal that that for the past five days the attackers had smuggled explosives and weapons into this site hidden in cement bags and paint pots. Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president, called the attacks an intelligence failure both for his government and NATO forces. Al Jazeera's Bernard Smith reports from Kabul.

Kabul wants to take lead on corruption fight
Afghanistan has been ranked as one of the top five most corrupt nations on earth, with officials and foreign contractors benefitting from the siphoning of hundreds of millions of dollars in foreign aid. For the people, bribery has become a way of life as the average Afghan is said to spend $156 dollars per year on illegal payments. The government of Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president, blames uncontrolled foreign spending on the rising costs associated with daily life in Afghanistan. Last year, however, Karzai fired a prosecutor after one case alleged 17 members of the cabinet of being complicit in graft. Al Jazeera's Bernard Smith reports from Kabul on the calls by the government to have more control over the spending of hundreds of millions of dollars in foreign aid.

In 30 years of war, It may take next 30 years to build Kabul jan back the way it was in 1970s. We would never be in peace unless we have Our Durand Line Back. Durand Line Belongs to Afghanistan and it has always been. There are 12 Million Afghans on the Other side of the So called International Border. But Its not International Border. Pakistan is british made country just like Israel was created by American (In fact Israel Is fare better then Pakistan at least they have freedome of speach). Pakistan is the dirty mark of Asia. Unless they give us our People back or It needs to be wiped out of Map. Pakistan is not an Islamic Nation. Afghans From Both side of the Border thought this would be Iqbals dream an Islamic nation, which would soon reach Turkey but this Pakistan was a dirty name not a clean name. It has puttin the Pure/clean name of Islam into dirt. And here we muslims suffer the most. As long As Pakistan occupied our Land, and killing our people (Wazeristan), we would never stop, we shell do Jehad. 'US wanted Taliban attacks to happen in Kabul'
The Taliban has launched a series of coordinated attacks across the Afghan capital on Sunday, including an assault on the presidential palace, the Afghan Parliament and NATO headquarters. Most of the targets were in the city's diplomatic district, with western embassies and residences under fire. 32 insurgent fighters and two police officers were killed in the violence, while dozens more were injured. The military airport at Jalalabad in the east of the country has also been hit, while violence has been reported in two other provinces. The Taliban says the attacks were retaliation for the actions of US troops, including the burning of the Koran and the recent massacre of 17 Afghan civilians. As many as six people were killed in a Taliban attack on a compound for foreigners in east Kabul Wednesday in retaliation for the visit of the US President to Afghanistan on Tuesday night. At least four Afghan civilians, including a child, died inside their burning car outside the compound and a Nepalese security guard was among the dead, while as many as ten Afghan school students were among the 17 wounded, officials said. The incident happened around 6:15am, less than two hours after US President Barack Obama left Afghanistan after making an unannounced visit to sign a long-term agreement with Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

Afghan National Security Forces, supported by coalition forces, successfully concluded an operation this morning against a small group of insurgents who attacked several locations in Kabul City. Insurgents attacked the International Security Assistance Force Afghanistan headquarters and the US Embassy in Kabul on Tuesday with small arms fire from outside the secure zone surrounding these compounds. Afghan National Security Forces, who have the lead for security in Kabul, responded immediately, to include Afghan National Army helicopters providing air support. Afghan and coalition forces trapped the insurgents in the partially-constructed, multi-story building they were using as a firing position, and conducted a methodical, floor-by-floor clearing operation. The Ministry of the Interior is reporting six insurgents killed in the operation. "The people of Afghanistan have chosen a path to the future with transition," said Gen. John R. Allen, ISAF commander. "In this attack, the insurgency succeeded in killing Afghan civilians, once again demonstrating their bankrupt ideology, which has been rejected by the Afghan people. Afghan security forces responded bravely, contained the insurgents, and systematically eliminated the threat. Once again, I was impressed by the courage, skill and fighting spirit of Afghan forces.
