Bella ciao, Iran
(Original HD version and song explanation) On 12 June 2009, after 10 days of exciting campaign, 85% of eligible Iranian voters all over the world turned out to vote for their favorite candidate. But the morning after elections the result was not what they voted for. Their votes were stolen, politicians, human right activists and opposition leaders had been arrested over night, foreign media corespondents and international journalists had been expelled and cities were full of riot police and security forces. Despite all these Iranians have come to streets to shout their freedom and ask for their vote. Hundreds have been killed so far and thousands have been arrested. But until now, after 40 days, Iranians inside Iran still continue their protests, and all over the world expat Iranians and other countries' citizens support them by protesting in front of Iran embassies. This movement is known as "Green Movement" because of using green color by Iranian protestors that was Mousavi's campaign color. The song is an old Italian antifascist song. This video is made for all brave Iranians who stay against bullets and despite brutal repression ask for their vote and freedom. About the song: (From wikipedia) The song Bella Ciao was sung by the left anti-fascist resistance movement in Italy, a movement by anarchists, communists, socialists and other anti-fascist partisans. The author of the lyrics is unknown, and the music seems to come from an earlier folk song sung by riceweeders in ...

Iran executes Jundallah leader
The leader of Jundallah, an Iranian Sunni Muslim group that has been engaged in an insurgency against the Iranian government for years, has been hanged in public in Tehran, the capital. Abdulmalek Rigi, who was executed on Sunday, was the government's public enemy number one. He was accused of being behind several attacks since 2005 that have killed more than 150 people, including security personnel and civilians. Jundallah says it is fighting for the rights of Sunnis, who they claim are discriminated against and oppressed in the Shia dominated country. Al Jazeera's Dan Nolan reports.

Chossudovsky: US will start WW3 by attacking Iran
A UN nuclear watchdog report suggests Iran could be developing a nuclear bomb, apparently confirming long-held suspicions in the West. Wilkerson: We can bomb Iran for 70 days around the clock
Meanwhile, as the US is pushing for sanctions to hinder Iran's nuclear programme, reports say Washington is already gearing up for an attack. A Scottish newspaper, The Sunday Herald, says hundreds of powerful bunker-buster bombs are being shipped to a military base on the British Garcia island, in the Indian Ocean. It was also used by the US for strikes against Iraq during the 1993 and 2003 Gulf wars. Some experts say American bombers would be capable of destroying around ten thousand targets in Iran, in just a few hours. But former chief of staff to Colin Powell, Lawrence Wilkerson, says that any action would spell disaster for the US military machine.

Iran's Jews - Iran
May 2007 The fiercely Islamic Republic of Iran, is perhaps the last place you would expect to find a large Jewish community. But despite political use of anti-semitic, anti-Israeli slogans, Iran's Jews appear remarkably free. "Anti-semitism has never been the general policy of the Iranian government" explains Maurice Mottamed, the country's sole Jewish MP. There are of course "glaring differences" in treatment between the majority Muslim population and religious minorities. But remarkably most of the time Iranian Jews are "comfortably doing everything they want to do here. We can perform all our religious celebrations." This is an image very much at odds with fashionable Western opinion. Produced by SBS/Dateline Distributed by Journeyman Pictures

Iran- Iraq trade increases exponentially
While world powers attempt to tighten the sanctions screw on Iran, trade with neighbouring Iraq is booming. Both countries were once mortal enemies but since the fall of Saddam Hussein, Iraq is now a major consumer of Iranian manufactured goods partly because Iraq has virtually no industry of its own. Al Jazeera's Omar Al-Saleh reports from Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. June 12, 2010

Israel may attack Iran this month
The group Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity has sent a memo to US President Obama warning him that Israel may attack Iran as early as this month, possibly leading to a wider war. Group member and former CIA analyst Ray McGovern said Israel feels America's got its back no matter what. This can be stopped, but only if Obama acts pre-empt an Israeli attack by publicly condemning it before it happens.
