US to Occupy Persian Gulf? 'Iran is not a sitting duck!'
The US is sending another escorted aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf, saying it's a routine mission. An escalating verbal conflict between Tehran and Washington has been also made worse by the assassination of an Iranian nuclear scientist on Wednesday. Karen Kwiatkowski, a retired US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, who worked in the Pentagon and the National Security Agency explained to RT that Western powers are unlikely to invade Iran. Iran threatens action if US returns to Persian Gulf
Iran has warned the United States it will take action if an American warship returns to the Persian Gulf. It left the area when Iran started its 10-day naval war games, during which they successfully test-fired a number of different missiles. But Russia's defence ministry says that despite the latest military exercise, the Iranians don't have the technology to make intercontinental ballistic missiles. Meanwhile France is pushing for stricter sanctions as it says it's sure Tehran is developing nuclear weapons. It's urged EU countries to follow the US in freezing Iranian central bank assets and imposing an embargo on oil exports. Tehran has been threatening to block the Strait of Hormuz - one of the world's most important oil routes - if the West stepped up sanctions. Growing up in a Persian community in Los Angeles, we made "Shit Persian Girls Say," to encompass the phenomenon that is Persian girls in Beverly Hills. We aimed to produce our masterpiece in regard to the culture of designer clothing, food and the language of Persian girls. We would like to send out a gracious thanks to every Persian girl we know, and for being so true to themselves that we were able to borrow a piece of each and every one of them in order to develop this video that hopefully captures all that is Persian. No Persians were harmed or insulted while making this video. These are all fictional characters and loosely based on our Persian friends. Stay tuned for episode 2, after we go viral.

Persian surgery dervishes Part 2 (edit) - Terry Riley
Persian Surgery Dervishes is a minimalist recording of two live solo electric organ concerts, the first held in Los Angeles on (18 April 1971) and the second in Paris on (24 May 1972), by avant-garde minimalist composer Terry Riley (see also "A Rainbow in Curved Air" and "In C" inter alia). The two very different performances of the same composition "Persian Surgery Dervishes" are meant to show the importance of improvisation in Riley's music. Riley plays a modified Yamaha electric organ tuned in just intonation. The original double-record version was released by legendary French label Shandar, then republished by Mantra Records, first, and Dunya Records later. There existed also a single-record version, also on Shandar, containing just the Paris concert, which had been sponsored by the label itself. Parts of this album served as soundtrack for a French film released in 1973, named "La chute d'un corps" and directed by a renowned French columnist, fr:Michel Polac. (from Wikipedia)
